Rehovot Rabbi Files Petition Against Gay Parade
The petitions to prevent the homosexual parade from marching down the streets of the holy city will be discussed in the High Court this afternoon.
Petitions were filed by Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Eli Yishai, the chairman of Sephardic religious party Shas, as well as ZAKA founder Yehuda Meshi-Zahav and right-wing activist Baruch Marzel.
The parade is scheduled to begin from Kaplan Street at 11:00 am and end with a rally at the Givat Ram stadium at 3:00 pm, less than two hours prior to the start of the Jewish Sabbath. Some 12,000 police officers will be deployed to protect the marchers.
