"Touching an Orange" Is a Success
The "Touching an Orange" exhibition was initiated by the city of Rehovot, and takes place on August 2007 in the orange growing Minkov Museum at the city border next to Ness Ziona Rabin Hi Tech Park. The statues, designed by famous Israeli singers, actors, painters and sculptors as well as ministers and other public personalities, are placed among the trees of the first orange grove planted in Rehovot 117 years ago.
The creators of the oranges have designed their work with different styles and techniques, ones that characterize their artistic and public profession. Some of the statues were designed in the style of astronomical elements, inspired by different myths, using motifs from the days of the Moshava’s pioneers, as well as works in the Baroque and Renaissance styles.
This exhibition is intended for promoting educational institutions and children’s organizations. At the end, the exhibits will be sold in auction. In addition, during the exhibition, the city holds activities and outdoor events, and visitors are able to walk in the paths of the Rehovot historic citrus grove."
My Rehovot reminds that the exhibition open daily 5 pm - 11 pm till September 1, 2007. Additional info, driving directions and public transportation questions please forward to City Information (tel: 106).
